Sunday Grooving

So things have been slow in the sweat shop these days,
I have been focusing on packing and moving and packing and moving.

I did get some time to work on my cathedral steps top
 and it's coming along nicely

I also finished my fabric crochet basket and now it holds all my yarn,
Seriously great color here.
I had to shut down production and pack up my sewing room.
Now I know it looks like alot to some, but really,
I think this is pretty good.  And it's all going in my two big bookcases, so . . .
well . . . . it will be fine.
And I don't have anyone telling me I have too much fabric!
Bonus!
Here is my empty sewing room.  Just need to move those two tables . . .
It was a great room and has served me well,
I wonder what it will be next?
A playroom?  An office?  Someone's hideaway?
I hope they enjoy it as much as I have.
Time to get to that next adventure!
I am eager to get settled in the new place.
All in good time.

on another note  . . . .

These sand bags where put out for hurricane Irene by a neighbor
who has trouble with water flooding her driveway.
They have now been moved to the side.
Barbarita commented,
"Look this is the kind of Belgium Block we get in our neighborhood!"
She cracks me up!

Hope you are having a great Sunday and are doing something fun!

Tag Sale A Go-Go

Yesterday was my big tag sale!
A month of prep for about 6 hours of fun.
Kind of like a wedding.  hahaha.

I used my guest room as a staging area,
all the stuff priced and boxed ready to go out.
Lots of friends showed up to help and move things.
We made it like a party. Lots of laughing and teasing each other.
It was amazing what people bought and what they walked by.
The terrace was set up with all the "little stuff."
Boy do tag salers love to barter!
After the first couple of sales, you just cave in and want people to
take things, you will sell it for a buck
so you don't have to pack it up and move it again!
We had people come back a couple of times too . . .
CD's seemed to be hot sellers, go figure?
The rocking horse my dad made didn't make the cut,
so he will be going into storage for the time being.
The only thing going into storage!
Gidget and Barbarita
They helped me sooooo much!
I wish I had taken a picture of the whole crew.  They were all amazing.
I am so lucky to have such great friends!
And they bought half my stuff too . . .
"You are selling that???  What do mean??
I guess I'll have to take that!"
Haha.  I'll have to  help them with their tag sales in the future I'm sure,
wonder how much of their stuff will have come from my tag sale!
Happy Sunday.

Did you miss me???

Between Hurricane Irene and packing, I haven't had much time
in the sewing room!  We were only without power for four days,
and no big trees fell on the house, so I consider myself lucky.
Packing is another story . . . where did all this stuff come from?

Since I am feeling a tad ahead of the game for the moment,
I decided to head back into my sewing room this afternoon.

I started with the Bee Block for Nicole,
She wanted a dresden plate or wagon wheel block.
She sent all this yummy Kaffe  fabric for us to use.
We all have the same backgrounds and centers,
and the rest is up to us.
You can't really tell here, but since I did a wagon wheel,
I used a hexie for the center to make it look like a bolt.
I hope Nicole likes it!

Then I moved onto a little made fabric for Victoria's

I chose her flower basket block to complete.
Victoria is collecting any of the 15 minute play BOMs
for this quilt(s) as long as they have green backgrounds
I can't wait to see how this one turns out!
Victoria is also collecting quilts for her Basics Quilt Drive.
If you have an unfinished top laying around, and have the time to do it,
it would be great to finish it
and send it off to someone who could really use and appreciate it!

I am going to try to get one off to her as soon as I move.
I won't even show you what moving looks like . . .
you all know it isn't pretty.
Having a huge tag sale this weekend.
If you are in the neighborhood, stop by.
And no, I'm not selling any of my quilts, why does everyone ask me that??
