100th Post, One Year Anniversary, So There Must Be A Giveway!

So many things can change in a year!
I can't believe I have been blogging for a year
and this is my 100th post.
It has been a wonderful year with so many changes and surprises.
I guess the main thing I have taken away from all of these changes,
is that you have to go with the flow and accept
everything that happens as best you can.

So in the spirit of the blogging world . . .
Here is my giveaway!

I have a pack of 13 fat quarters in sherbet colors,
2 yards of pink and 1 yard of blue.

I bought this a while ago for a baby quilt  . . . .
And well you know how that goes!
I don't even know the name of the fabric line, there is nothing in the selvage,
but it did come from a very nice quilt shop.

But while I was cleaning out for the move, I decided this would make the perfect giveaway!

So here's what you have to do.

Leave me a comment and tell me what was the biggest change in your life this year,
and how did you handle it.
I will pick a winner on Friday afternoon.
Please have an email address attached to your profile so I can contact you.

Here's to change!

  1. I have had so many changes in the last year it is hard to chose one. My mother died and that ended 3 years of caregiving and overseeing caregivers. Our house was also damaged during the recent hurricane. We having lots of work done to the house, repairing damages and overdue renovations.

  2. The economy has changed my life a lot. My husband and I are both retired. Our life style has changed so much. We never lived beyond our means but we are pinching every penny. Holding your breath that nothing will happen so we can continue to pay our mortage. Through all of this my husband I have been closer. Reminds us of the good ole days jut starting out.

  3. Congratulations on your blogiversary! My biggest change actually came about last year. We moved into a new(er) home after living in the same house for over 30 years. After we had been in the house one month, I had a fall and fractured my back, so I was laid up for several months, not being able to do anything. We love our new home and little by little we've been making it our own. Love the fabric, thanks for the giveaway!

  4. Contrats on the blogiversary! Doesn't time fly? Easy answer for my biggest change ever. Lost my husband to cancer. Taking my new life one day at at time, trying to stay busy, being thankful for all we had and all I still have.

  5. Congrats on your hundred posts. The biggest change for me this year is that I will hit 65 in December. I have been waiting for senior discounts for such a long time. I can finally tap into my teacher pension. 65 brings about many changes, all of which have been great so far.

  6. Congratulations! Biggest change - you really got me thinking! There have been a few - but the biggest impact on my daily life has been the addition of two dogs to our household. My husband and I (the kids are grown)got a new lab puppy last Christmas - and then our daughter's beagle mix came to live with us a number of months ago (too much barking for her apartment). How to handle it? Easy - just clean up their messes, and accept their unconditional love. Pretty fun, actually!

  7. it has been a year of big changes.. for me, the biggest has been leaving the cozy comfort of my stay-at-home-mom lifestyle and reentering the workforce after 3 years. where did all my quilting time go?!?

  8. I admire making it to one hundred posts. I've yet to enter blogdom. Congratulations. My biggest change was giving birth to our third daughter and for the first time not simultaneously taking exams and working towards my career goal. I'll still do that, just not quite yet. For the first time I am really consciously being a mom and valuing this task as being enough. How am I handling that inner demon that says "do more, be more" in these crazy times of being a woman. I just look at those little poopers in the few moments that they are not driving me crazy and can't help but smile and when they are finally sleeping I get busy on their quilts. medinagraef(at)gmx(dot)de

  10. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! It is often weird to realize that a year has passed, isn't it. And 100 posts to show as well as so many new friends. My life's changes have been too many to count, so do not count me in for the give a way. (Cuz I have already an extrodinary excess of fabrics that I must soon find new homes for.) I just want to say that your blog posts always put a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart. Keep 'em coming, girl!

  12. I retired last October after 35 years of working full time with some overtime hours along the way. (3 months after my husband retired). At first it was kind of scary to think about giving up my steady income. But now, 1 year into it, I'm loving the freedom I now have. I can stay in my sewing room all day if I want(and I do quite often), I can sleep in and stay up late, I can go shopping or to go to the movie theater for a matinee show in the middle of the week. We're now traveling a lot because we now longer have to work around our job schedules and we're able to take advantage of last minute travel deals. After a year of change...Life is Great.

  13. The biggest change in my lift in the last year is my oldest starting school! I've had to return to being a scheduled person, something that fell away while staying at home and having kids. Now, I have to get out the door on time in the morning, and my 3 year old has to be woken up about 10 times in order for that to happen!

  14. Congratulations on your blogging milestone! You have shared your spirit and your quilts with us all. Biggest change for me is joining some new online bees, joining a couple of small local groups, and making many new friends. Yes, Life is Great!!!;,

  15. Congratulations! :) We moved to Toronto a month ago. BIG MOVE for me and lots and lots of uncertainty. I'm trying to find work and we're trying to live on the savings we came with. Lots of stress and lots of anxiety.
I'm trying to stay positive, pray a lot, joined a church group, stay connected with my husband, and remind myself that I did not make it here on my own and I will be carried through this just like I was carried here.
